FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
In response to the state of emergency due to Hurricane Sandy, PURR West Virginia acting as emergency responders for IFAW (International Fund for Animal Welfare) is offering assistance to the companion animals in north central West Virginia.
The weather conditions in our area have made life difficult and dangerous for many, including our pets and other animals in the area. PURR WV is working hard to help those who need help with their cats and other pets at this time. They are also asking that people help cats that live outside or have been abandoned.
If it isn’t safe for you outside, it isn’t safe for them. Take them with you if you can or prepare them to be warm and fed. And keep in mind the feral and other outdoor cats you see daily. Do they have a warm place to go to and food as well as water?
If you need help or information, contact PURR of WV at 304-265-4671. Help@purrwv.org You will be asked to leave a message and a volunteer will respond. Temporary shelter is available if you need to leave your home and cannot take your pets.
PURR WV is an Emergency Responder Partner of the International Fund for Animal Welfare (www.IFAW.org). It is a not for profit no kill cat shelter on 306 Beech St, Grafton WV. www.purrwv.org
